Advanced #
The Advanced tab provides additional configuration options that control how customers interact with a product in the Design Studio and on the WooCommerce product page.
These settings allow you to customize the design experience, control purchasing behavior, organize product resources, configure quantity rules, and create quantity-based discounts.
This guide explains every option available in the Advanced tab.
Before You Begin #
The Advanced tab should be configured after completing the previous Product Base settings.
Typical workflow:
Create Product Base
↓
Configure Design
↓
Configure Attributes
↓
Configure Advanced Settings
↓
Save Product Base
Once the Product Base is saved, these settings automatically apply to every WooCommerce product connected to it.
Open the Advanced Tab #
Navigate to:
WordPress Admin → Product Designer App → Product Bases
Create a new Product Base or edit an existing one.
After completing the Attributes tab, switch to the Advanced tab.
Here you can configure additional product behavior.
Allow Customers to Edit Product Size #
Enable Allow Customer Edit Size if customers should be able to resize the product dimensions before or during customization.
This option is useful for products such as:
- Posters
- Canvas Prints
- Banners
- Stickers
- Signs
- Labels
When enabled, customers can select or enter supported dimensions depending on your product configuration.
For products with fixed dimensions, leave this option disabled.

The Custom View option allows customer can add custom view.

Manager Layout #
Choose the layout used by the Design Studio for this Product Base.
Layouts control the overall appearance of the editor. For example: Show/hide Toolbar.
Different layouts may be more suitable for different product types.
Select the layout that best matches your product and customer workflow.
Resources #
Resources provide helpful content that customers can access while designing their products.
Resources may include:
- Clipart collections
- Design templates
Select one or more Resource collections that should be available for this Product Base.
Only the selected resources will appear inside the Design Studio for this product.
This allows each product to display only the artwork relevant to that product category.
For example:
A T-shirt product may display:
- Sports clipart
- Fashion graphics
- Typography
While a business card product may display:
- Company icons
- QR codes
- Office graphics
Related Products #
The Related Products option allows you to associate other Product Bases or products with the current product.
Related products can help customers discover additional customizable products.
Examples include:
- Matching mug and T-shirt
- Front and back signage
- Phone case and tablet case
- Business card and flyer
- Wedding invitation and thank-you card
Select one or more related products from the available list.
Minimum Quantity #
Specify the minimum quantity that customers must purchase before adding the product to the cart.
Examples:

This setting is useful for:
- Wholesale products
- Business printing
- Bulk orders
- Minimum production requirements
Customers cannot add fewer than the configured quantity to the cart.
Allow Empty Design #
Normally, customers are expected to add or edit a design before ordering.
Enable Allow Empty Design if customers should be allowed to purchase the product without adding any design.
Typical use cases include:
- Blank products
- Ready-made products
- Optional customization
- Promotional products
- Products that may be customized later
If disabled, customers must complete the required design before adding the product to the cart.
Quantity Discounts #
The Quantity Discount section allows you to automatically reduce the product price when customers purchase larger quantities.
Quantity discounts encourage bulk purchases and simplify pricing.
Click Add Discount to create a new pricing rule.
Each rule includes:
- Minimum Quantity
- Discount Type
- Discount Value
Percentage Discount #
A percentage discount reduces the product price by a percentage of the original price.
Example:

| 25 | 10% |
| 50 | 15% |
If the product price is $20 and the customer purchases 25 items, a 10% discount is automatically applied.
Fixed Amount Discount #
A fixed discount subtracts a specific amount from the product price.
Example:

| 50 | $8 |
If the product price is $30, selecting the second rule reduces the price by $5 per item.
Choose the discount type that best fits your pricing strategy.
Save the Product Base #
After configuring all Advanced settings, click Save.
The Product Base now includes:
- Design configuration
- Attributes
- Advanced settings
- Quantity rules
- Discount rules
- Resources
- Related products
Every WooCommerce product connected to this Product Base automatically uses these settings.

A customizable T-shirt Product Base might use the following configuration:

Best Practices #
For the best results:
- Enable product size editing only when products support multiple dimensions.
- Enable add custom view for product dynamic views.
- Keep layouts consistent across similar products.
- Limit Resources to content relevant to the product.
- Use Related Products to increase cross-selling opportunities.
- Configure minimum quantities for wholesale or print products.
- Allow empty designs only when appropriate.
- Create clear quantity discount tiers that encourage larger orders.
- Test all Advanced settings before publishing the product.
Properly configuring the Advanced tab helps deliver a smoother customer experience while providing greater flexibility for pricing, inventory, and product customization.
