If disabled, customers will not be able to upload or insert images.
Allow Image Upload #
You can allow customers to upload their own images directly from their device.
Supported upload sources typically include:
- Computer
- Mobile phone
- Tablet
After uploading, the image is automatically added to the canvas for editing.
This feature is commonly used for:
- Custom T-shirts
- Photo gifts
- Canvas prints
- Business cards
- Personalized merchandise
Supported Image Formats #
Product Designer App supports the most common image formats.
Recommended formats include:
- PNG
- JPG / JPEG
- WebP (if supported)
For the best print quality:
- Use high-resolution images.
- Prefer PNG files when transparency is required.
- Avoid heavily compressed images.
Recommended Image Size #
For high-quality printing:
- Upload images with sufficient resolution.
- Use images that match the intended print size.
- Avoid enlarging very small images.
Low-resolution images may appear blurry when printed.
If image quality checking is enabled, Product Designer App can warn customers when an uploaded image may not produce good print results.
Photo Library #
In addition to uploading personal images, customers can select images from a predefined Photo Library.
The Photo Library is managed by the store administrator.
Typical uses include:
- Background images
- Brand assets
- Marketing graphics
- Decorative elements
- Product textures
- Seasonal artwork
This allows customers to design products without uploading their own files.
Organize Photo Categories #
Large photo collections can be organized into categories.
Examples include:
- Backgrounds
- Nature
- Holidays
- Sports
- Business
- Patterns
- Textures
Well-organized categories help customers quickly find suitable images.
Add Photos to the Canvas #
Customers simply select a photo from the library or upload their own image.
The image is immediately inserted into the active Design Area.
From there, it can be freely positioned and edited.

Resize Photos #
Photos can be resized directly on the canvas using the transformation handles.
Customers can:
- Scale proportionally
- Stretch (when allowed)
- Fit within the Design Area
- Fill larger printable areas
The live preview updates as the image is resized.
Move and Rotate #
Uploaded images can be:
- Dragged to any position
- Rotated
- Centered
- Aligned with other elements
These controls make it easy to create balanced product layouts.
Crop Images #
The built-in crop tool allows customers to remove unwanted portions of an image before printing.
Typical uses include:
- Cropping portraits
- Removing backgrounds
- Focusing on important details
- Adjusting image composition
Cropping only affects the design—it does not modify the customer’s original uploaded file.
Flip Images #
Photos can be flipped:
- Horizontally
- Vertically
This is useful for mirrored designs, logos, or layout adjustments.
Replace Photos #
Customers can replace an existing image without recreating the entire design.
The new image inherits the original position and size whenever possible, making it easy to update photos while preserving the overall layout.
Layer Management #
Photos behave like all other design objects.
Customers can:
- Bring Forward
- Send Backward
- Duplicate
- Lock (if enabled)
- Delete
This allows photos to be combined with text, clipart, QR codes, and other design elements.
Photo Options #
Depending on your Product Base configuration, customers may have access to additional photo options, including:
- Opacity
- Rotation
- Scaling
- Position
- Flip Horizontal
- Flip Vertical
- Crop
- Duplicate
- Delete
Available options may vary depending on the product configuration and enabled Design Studio features.

Image Quality #
For professional printing, we recommend:
- Upload high-resolution images.
- Avoid screenshots or heavily compressed files.
- Use transparent PNG files when appropriate.
- Verify image quality before completing the order.
The final print quality depends largely on the resolution of the uploaded image.
